So many musicians must be struggling!
Of course I don’t mean the massive artists like Taylor Swift or Ed Sheeran (is he still massive?), I mean all the bands who rely on touring to make a living, all the session players who join them on their tours – and even the bands playing the pub and club circuits.
It hard to believe the last live gig I went to, which was brilliant by the way, was the Staves at Belgrave Hall in Leeds on 1st March 2020.
So many concerts have been put back – some more than once as COVID has really taken hold in the UK. I have tickets for so many concerts that have been postponed – some of which may never go ahead! Sam Fender, Jethro Tull, Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets, Yes, Rick Wakeman, Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy, Australian Pink Floyd – all rescheduled. And I can’t remember when I last went to the pub to see any of the great local bands we have where I live – some of which I have friends playing in.
It’s tough for musicians – hopefully they’ll all come through this and get back on the road!
